Fred Perry Subculture: Don Letts Films

As time goes on Fred Perry keeps the faith and this month the company has released a series of short films by Don Letts the English DJ  (and member of Big Audio Dynamite) who has had his finger on the pulse of the British youth subcultures for decades. The films cover groups such as Teddys, Mods, Skinheads, Ska, New Wave and more. Of course, in these style movements Fred Perry clothing has been a common thread.  In the 2nd film, This is a Modern World, scooters figure prominently.

According to commenter Phil Gorman:

"The scooter element of mod is really interesting, because what it does is...it gives this teenage generation an ability not to rely on their parents.  They're finally independent."

The series in entertaining and a great capsule of British subculture history. Watch them all at: fredperrysubculture.com
